Mr. President, thank you for your unqualified support for passage of the Save Act that requires a photo identification and verified citizenship in order to vote in federal elections. You stand with 80% of the American people. The Save Act has been passed by the House of Representative and our Senators must do likewise. Passage in the Senate must happen, no excuses, filibuster or not, it must happen.
Mr.
President, another Executive Action to protect the vote is not good enough. On Election
Day, such an Executive Action will be tied up in the courts and prove to be unenforceable
in the Blue states. This is not a solution.
To be enforceable, the Save Act must be the Law of the Land, passed by both
houses of Congress.
Let’s give
our lawmakers a bit at the apple, do they wish to be known as patriots or
buffoons?
