Matter

If matter is eternal nothing matters. Very simple, BoBo is sorry to be so blunt but it doesn’t take a genius to figure this one out. If matter is eternal, life is only a 60 minute game in which we struggle for the next breath amidst ever changing circumstances. If matter is eternal the best we can hope for is to give the next guy a better shot at a better limited future. There is no end game.

The philosophers call the only possible end game God. God is described as the only permanence in our world. The philosophers say there is no “potentiality” (change) in God. BoBo believes, after a shallow exploration of the great thinkers, most philosophers want to go there, some do and some don’t but they all talk about God. We all are at different places in our lives but every thinking person comes to understand, sooner or later, that if there is only matter, life has no meaning. Our world is depressingly pointless. We fill our days with only matter. Some of us may ask, why are we here?

This is where we are as a species. This is where we are in America. Look around, shared human dignity is at a low ebb and the stock market rolls on. The other guy is fodder to be used in our drive to validate our “now” with politics and money. Families are torn asunder, new life is killed in the womb for the sake of expediency and the homeless are but a political tool. Suicide is merely another choice. Sick commercialism and killing to protect our space is somehow righteous. Life is about career, security, getting high, sexual escapades or the glamor of notoriety. Ours is largely a culture of death, a nothing culture.

Before there was nothing, there was and is God. God is ultimate unity, perfect wholeness, completeness and total freedom. That God, who was not content with perfection, willed matter to be.

Doomsday

What is God all about in this our world? We have been trying to answer this question in a multitude of ways for thousands of years as reflected in the thinking within various religions. Every religion has an answer. How would you answer this question? The theologians and philosophers among us tend to complicate the issue making our understanding beyond the reach of we average Joe’s. Could we not use a common sense approach?

Two answers from two different religions are particularly relevant to our time. The faith of the Koran says that God is all about JUSTICE and the spiritual believer should defend God by meeting out God justice. Is it any wonder that Iran’s Khomeini wants nuclear weapons to blow up our Godless world? Blowing up our world is doing God a favor, it is the extreme mission that is taught in some Mosques.

Christianity has its share of dooms day thinking and the Bible does have a few references to the justice of God. This, however, is not the whole story for God is most times pictured as a God of love, God love. You and BoBo really don’t know the full meaning of God Love but we common sense people know what it is not, blowing up our world. God desires our freely given loving respect and all that we experience in this world is to teach us about God love that flows like a river.

Fox News is constantly pandering to the very worst of human nature in the Guthrie case. As humans we tend to gloat over the misfortune of others in order to breathe easier ourselves. Should Fox enable for profit a most negative way to live? The issue is how much coverage is necessary and one would think at this point, very little. The crime was a burglary gone bad and tragically Nancy is probably buried somewhere in the desert.

Republican Senator Lisa “mirky” Murkowski has been the senior Senator from the great state of Alaska since 2002 but plays the political game to the beat of a different drummer. She is always playing hide and seek between the Republican and Democrat agendas. What is going on in the world of “mirky” Murkowski? The Save Act is federal overreach? Why have 50 of the 53 Republican Senators wholeheartedly signed on to the Save Act as co-sponsors? BoBo assumes they would disagree with your overreach claim.

The Save Act is fundamental to American values which means that you, “mirky” Murkowski are being anti American. Please allow BoBo to guess as to what is going on in the world of our lady Senator from Alaska. Lisa has a daddy problem. She was gifted with her Senator ship and the political apparatus in 2002 by her father, then Governor and former Senator Frank Murkowski. This gift is a heavy lift for the next generation, measuring up will always be an issue. Frank Murkowski is in his 90’s and long retired.

President Donald Trump has now become the handy object of Lisa’s love/ hate relationship with her father. This love/hate relationship is normal, natural human workings, no disrespect intended. However, Lisa Murkowski is a United States Senator and as such should rise above her feelings and join herself to what is best for America.

Some of us do not believe “mirky” can make a thought out argument against the Save Act. She has to be noticed and as long as she gives in to this feeling, she will not be a creditable Senator who is worthy of the peoples’ respect.

Jail

There are not enough penalties in the Save Act. Allowing for private lawsuits against election officials is a start but individual voters who cast an illegal vote according to the law should face consequences as well, like jail time.

Buffoons

Mr. President, thank you for your unqualified support for passage of the Save Act that requires a photo identification and verified citizenship in order to vote in federal elections. You stand with 80% of the American people. The Save Act has been passed by the House of Representative and our Senators must do likewise. Passage in the Senate must happen, no excuses, filibuster or not, it must happen.

Mr. President, another Executive Action to protect the vote is not good enough. On Election Day, such an Executive Action will be tied up in the courts and prove to be unenforceable in the Blue states.  This is not a solution. To be enforceable, the Save Act must be the Law of the Land, passed by both houses of Congress.

Let’s give our lawmakers a bit at the apple, do they wish to be known as patriots or buffoons?

The historical Christian God statement goes something like the following. Our all-powerful God, the judge and ruler of all worlds, works an eternal future for all believers through the life, death and resurrection of the God/Man Jesus, while sitting on the remote God throne of eternity. Christian theologians call this God statement classical theism. Except for the last hundred or so years, this understanding has been the only Christian God understanding.

Christian theologians have ventured into new territory of late because of the language of science and evolution. Can God belief and our “as is” world coexist? This is “the” question. Some say BoBo is not a recognized theologian scholar so he should just shut up. Maybe so but the classically trained theologians, the experts, are tied economically to Church speak and classical theism, making the possibility of changing language and thinking risky business. Which voice is to be trusted?  

BoBo is only a theologian in the sense that all God believers are theologians, we must tell our neighbors the "why" of our beliefs. Or do we? Maybe this is why Christianity has lost much of its potency. The great tragedy of the Christian church is silence from the pew because asking questions from the pew is also risky business. Some of us do believe that faith is a menu to be talked about and not the blind acceptance of whatever is on the menu.

Social wisdom says, “Don’t speak ill of the dead”. Never being particularly motivated by social convention and because some of our Republican Senators need correction, BoBo speaks to the almost dead. 

Republican Senators with ancient 20^th century politics in mind, why are you blocking the Trump 21^st century America First agenda? Is it only because it is Trump’s agenda and not yours? The America first agenda could also be your agenda. The future is before us as a free country if we face the challenges together.

The Senate filibuster and blue slips are ancient outlived traditions. No longer can the old boys club hide behind their undemocratic gamesmanship. Assuming that our Republican Senators have the courage to be pro-active, what issues are big enough to bring lasting change in Washington?

Pass the save Act making citizenship with a picture ID required for voting in all federal elections.

Prohibit all federal monies going to sanctuary states and jurisdictions until they comply with Federal Law.

Funding a new presidential face, Donald Trump on Mount Rushmore, reproducing his likeness as depicted in his New York arraignment.     

The vast majority of American citizens would applaud.

SAVE ACT

Senator John Thune, you and your Senate Republican buddies are a sorry lot. The SAVE ACT is not routine legislation. The SAVE ACT is more than just another day at the office. If anyone, in any other state or country, can get on the Fulton County Georgia voter rolls by only claiming an empty lot or a UPS mailbox as a vote qualifying residence, our lawmakers and politicians in Washington are sitting on their hands, in their ivory tower. Hell, these fraudulent voters could be in China and voting by mail!

Without the SAVE ACT, voting in federal elections is meaningless. A once in a life time national leader such as Donald Trump may swing a few elections but the voice of the 80% majority of our people is doomed over the long haul without the Save Act. The SAVE ACT is NATIONAL SALVATION.

And your first concern is a Senate tradition? Without the SAVE ACT, BoBo is out!

Who are you few Republican Senators opposing the passage of the Save Act, requiring voter I.D. and citizenship? We are told that there are 49 Senate Republican co-sponsors of the Save Act. We are told that 75% of all voters of both parties and every ethnicity want fair federal elections, such elections can only happen with this legislation.  

Great but were do the remaining remaining Republican Senators stand? They are being very quiet and cowardly hiding. Stand up if you can and explain your opposition to the Act. 

Our radical left dominated Democrat Party will not abide by the filibuster if and when push should come to shove. Failure to pass the Save Act now will ensure the Democrats win in every election from now through eternity. Game over. 

Be courageous if you can, stand up, explain yourselves and take the heat. Majority leader Thune has promised a vote on the Save Act, so you can't hide as in the old days of the Senate.

Flow

Eternity could be like the water flow as it goes down the drain. There is a rotation much like a tornado around a central axis. The axis being the blossoming joyful eternal party. 

The philosophers question how freedom will work in eternity. In such a scenario, each of us will be free to willingly descend to the God Party or remain on the outer edges of the eternal tornado. All of us, religious or not, spiritual or not, when confronted with the alternative, will say that the party is for me. By letting go of our self-centeredness and false assumptions we are then party bound. Go with the flow.

Call it imagination or speculation but why not?

Timing

All of the sudden Politico is an authority on the will of the American people? Do only 65% of Americans support military intervention overseas? Ask the relatives of Americans killed by the Tyrant of Tehran in the last 50 years. Ask the brave veterans with missing legs and arms that are paraded on TV by our do gooder organizations.  Ask the still living protesters in Iran who are now and forever without friends and family members. Ask the 20.000 protesters now being held hostage by the Khomeini making the promised help much too costly. Some of us will not forget.

There is a war waging against our America. The revolutionaries call themselves Democrats as they have called themselves Democrats in every other revolution in the last 200 years. They are not. Their goal is simple, they are about trashing another country so that they can get absolute power over the people. What is treasonous is the rest of the Democrat Party that is asleep at the switch and accepting the present turmoil as just another liberal verses conservative political disagreement. We can only express the God kind a love (reality) as we freely detach from the priorities of this world. One of my maybe dreams of the last few years is to sell the house, buy a small sailboat, point the bow west and sail on. Could it be my “Moby Dick” or “Two Years before the Mast” nostalgia? The first chore in such an adventure, after loading up with provisions, is to bring in the dock tether lines.

We can’t go west still tied to the dock. America is corrupt: the love of money, compromising for personal security and that sex stuff keep us tethered and gathering barnacles at the dock. We need a spiritual revolt and then our desired national greatness will set our adventure course.

Religion of whatever flavor is like bringing in the lines tying us to the dock and then just mooring at anchorage in the bay. Almost adventure.

Freedom is all that matters. Freedom is all that matters to God and therefore to we humans. Everything else is window dressing. This is the only possible explanation for this our violent, dangerous and deadly “as is” world. If ours is a God created order, all of our experienced craziness has to have a God function. Why did God so design our world?

Why are children born without arms? Why are political protesters gunned down in the streets by a tyrant? Why cancer or heart disease? Why war? Why an airliner crash over the Potomac? Why are Chinese pathogen labs in our residential neighborhoods? Maybe evil is somehow our fault, we dump enough garbage into our lives resulting in suffering but that can’t be the whole story, that can’t be the whole mind of God. Why is it normal for the innocent to be victims of evil?  

Answer: because only in this our world can we get a taste of God freedom and learn to value that freedom. Progress is a slow walk.

Universalism

There are two flavors of universalism. Christian universalism says that that God through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ wills the eventual saving of all peoples, believers and nonbelievers alike. Because God wills this future for all of us, it will happen, in this earthly life or the timelessness of eternity.

God universalism says that God is not a dictator pulling strings in our world but is hidden among us working for the eventual union of all peoples with God. God would not be God if what God wills is only a future for the few. Our beginning was created by God and we all shall one day be a part of the God willed eternal future.

God only for the few is the Christian theological tradition. St. Augustine started this heaven and hell tradition some four hundred years after Jesus walked among us. From time to time other theologians have done some fine tuning but the gist of this God thinking has stood in place as the predominate understanding about God.

The minority universalist understanding that has always been with us made news in the last hundred years. Believers are coming to term with the truth that our all powerful God, who has given human life dignity, could not in any way be a failed God. What God wills, will happen.

Farm

The Radical Democrat leftists and their sugar daddies are a thin minority of unhappy and unaccomplished people who blame the rest of us for their misery. This 20% minority create all the noise, the chaos on our streets, the directed violence and the defrauding of the public trust. Anything goes because their lives are without significance so they go about creating their own meaning apart from God.

World history has shown that if this thin minority makes enough noise, silences enough opposing voices and cheats on enough elections, they will win and gain "almighty power" over the quiet, honest, peace loving folk. Will this minority destroy America as it has done so many times and in so many places, maybe, maybe not?  It depends upon the happy people and those of us who take personal responsibility for our own shortcomings.

Pardons

BoBo is confused. Was it not just four years ago that a black Capital Hill Security guard shot and killed a white woman trespasser for attempting to enter the Capital Building on January 6? The murderer fired the shot from a distance and was not facing an immediate threat to his life or safety. Where is the justice in that?

George Floyd was inadvertently killed by a Minneapolis Police officer after violently resisting arrest four years ago. The officer, Derek Chauvin, was convicted by Minneapolis justice to 22.5 years in prison. He then was stabbed twenty two times while in prison by another inmate. Four other officers were convicted of lesser charges and were also sent to prison. Where is the justice in all that?

The Minneapolis crazies who were killed or wounded this month because they posed an immediate threat to federal officers up close and personal, placed themselves in harm’s way. In a real sense, they asked for it. Thankfully, federal officers while doing their duty are not subject to Minneapolis justice. All of us know, it is crazy to fight with armed police anywhere and at any time. The rest of America is not like the useful idiots in the sinkhole up north.

Some of us believe that Presidential pardons are owed to all the officers convicted by Minneapolis justice.

Fight

Some of we old folk dream of simpler times. Just let us go out quietly, no fuss. However, among the old or the young, it is hard to remain uninvolved as the present day clash of cultures has disturbed our desired national tranquility.  Why is our world so bedeviled?

Let us return to the days of yesteryear, to the days of the Lone Ranger and Tonto, a cloud of dust and a hardy, Hi Ho Silver! Those were days, the good times in our childhood but those simple times are no more. Now we must choose sides, between family, friends and neighbors. Now we must find a way to stand out from the dispassionate, uninvolved Americans, we are the sidelined quarterbacks speaking for a bygone era.

Now we must fight for the America of our youth.

Flat out, the existence of a God of any sort cannot be proven. There is no book, no bible, no history, no testimony, no martyr and no level of faith that proves God. Anyone who is aware of our human landscape, intellectually and experientially, must agree that the existence of a God or Gods cannot be beyond argument. To think otherwise is to live in a dream world. There are those of us who think and believe that God can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt (whatever that is) but pure God existence has always and remains an argument.

Each of us will one day go back to the earth with the existence of God being an open question. The proof may or may not come at this time when we may or may not be asked the question, “what was your time all about?”
